Corporate Integrity System Malaysia (CISM) Round Table Discussion Series 37 No. 1 Year 2020 [ 11 Aug 2020 ]

MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil chaired the Corporate Integrity System Malaysia (CISM) Round Table Discussion (RTD) Series 37 No. 1 Year 2020 in Impiana Hotel KLCC, Kuala Lumpur on 10 August 2020.

Also present were other CISM Roundtable members that included Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (GIACC), MACC Inspection and Consultation (BPMP) Director Nazli Rasyid Hj Sulong, MACC BPMP Deputy Director I Salwa Muharam as well as MACC BPMP Branch A Officers that functioned as the CISM Secretariat.

The CISM Round Table serves as a platform to discuss the issues, roles and commitment from every RTD members to strengthen efforts to cultivate ethics, anti-corruption and integrity among the business community in this country. The Round Table also ensures integrity, ethics and responsibility of businesses are enhanced under the national anti-corruption plan, guidelines and industries’ best practices.

Round Table members consists of MACC as the custodian; two agencies functioning as implementers that is the IIM and TI-M; as well as 4 other agencies functioning as promoter that is GIACC, Bursa Malaysia, SSM and SC.

Through the CISM Round Table platform, continuous commitment from all members and their function as promoter and implementer would be increased and widened to ensure better collaboration in fighting corruption especially involving its stakeholders in the private sector.

MACC would continue its function as custodian and caretaker of the CISM system that served as the reference centre in the implementation of CISM initiatives by CIPv2.0 signatories.

At the end of the RTD, there was a symbolic handing over ceremony of CISM chairperson and secretariat function between MACC’s Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin to IIM Chief Executive Officer Nor'afiza Saim.
