The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would like to emphasise that all investigations carried out are based on authentic information and evidence obtained by the Commission.
The investigation papers that have been completed with the findings of elements of offences under the MACC Act 2009 and related acts are then referred to the Attorney General Chambers for appropriate study and consideration.
Therefore, the accusation by a former Minister that MACC deliberately fabricated the investigation for the purpose of defaming his name is completely untrue and has tarnished the image of this Commission.
Every action, whether during the investigation process or after the charges, has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law based on independent, transparent and professional principles and is never aimed at pressuring any particular individual for political or similar factors.
