MACC Detained Junior Executive, Not The CEO

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that they had detained nine individuals since 8 April (Friday) until today, to assist in the investigation of alleged corruption in relation to the project at Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB).

This investigation is the result of the cooperation and information sharing between the MACC and Petronas to help strengthen the integrity of the government-linked company (GLC).

In the meantime, the Commission would like to clarify that one of the nine individuals detained to assist in the investigation is a junior executive at PCSB and not the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as claimed by some parties.

Meanwhile, eight other individuals arrested were the owners and senior officials of contractor companies and vendors who carried out projects related to the alleged corruption.
