SESB Answers The MACC Call To Pledge The IBR

Kota Kinabalu, 29 Nov - Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) has responded to the call of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) by pledging and signing the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) on 26 November.

The MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Datuk Sri Haji Azam Baki said that this initiative is a proactive step because it can raise the sense of responsibility of the management and its officers in performing their duties, and ensure that they stay away from corruption, malpractice and abuse of power.

“This effort can also spread the value of transparency, integrity, good governance and prevent any acts of corruption from occuring in the organization.

“Every SESB employee must also fully comply with the department's Code of Ethics to create a positive and conducive work culture environment,” he said.

Tan Sri Dato 'Sri Haji Azam said this through a video recording here at the Opening Ceremony of SESB Integrity Day Year 2021 & SESB Anti-Corruption Plan Book Launch Year 2021-2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).

He added that the SESB Anti-Corruption Plan Book can be used as a guide to fight corruption and improve work culture with integrity.

Also present were the Sabah State Secretary cum SESB Board Member, Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar Untong; Sabah Director General of Public Service, Datuk (Datu) Rosmadi Datu Sulai; Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad SESB, Dato' Sri Hasan Arifin; SESB Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid and the Sabah MACC Director, Datuk Karunanithy Y. Subbiah.
