Happy Retirement Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin; Datuk Seri Norazlan Mohd Razali Appointed As The New TKPP

PUTRAJAYA, 1 Sept. - The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil ends his service today after 37 years serving with the MACC and the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA).

His memorable day was celebrated by the MACC staff at the Retirement Parade here at the MACC Headquarters.

The celebration followed the Standard Operations Procedure by the National Security Council (Majlis Keselamatan Negara) and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) on a small scale, open space and controlled environment.

Meanwhile, his current post will be replaced by the former Senior Director of Investigation Division, Datuk Seri Norazlan Mohd Razali effective on 2 September 2021, as the new Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention).

Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin in his speech said, he went through tears and joys with his colleagues at the MACC throughout his three decades of service. But what is most important is that friendship never fades and remains eternally.

“I would like to call on MACC members to practice the 'esprit de corps' which means the spirit of cooperation, togetherness and teamwork. The effectiveness of corruption prevention depends on teamwork among MACC staff to ensure that the country is clean and free from corruption.

“I would also like to encourage MACC staff to always have the attitude of learning continually while performing any job as well as handling it responsibly and wholeheartedly.”

He added that MACC officers and staff also need to pay attention to their physical and mental health. They need to practice a healthy and active lifestyle such as exercising in the gym or taking up a sport.

During the event, a Handover Ceremony was also held whereby Dato’ Sri Shamshun handed over his post to Datuk Seri Norazlan.

Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin was also named Tokoh Inovasi (Master of Innovation) for his contribution in digital transformation and catalyst of new ideas in corruption prevention strategies.

Also present were MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki; MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Dato’ Sri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya; MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Management and Professionalism), Dato’ Junipah Wandi; Chairman of PUSPANITA, Datin Seri Normah Mohd Zin; Deputy Chairman of PUSPANITA I, Datin Sri Nik Asmat Nik Hussin and the MACC Divisional and State Directors.
