COLLABORATION BETWEEN MACC & KPDNHEP EMPOWER GOVERNANCE IN THE COOKING OIL PRICE STABILIZATION SCHEME MANAGEMENT

PUTRAJAYA, 5 May - The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has submitted a total of seven (7) improvement recommendations by the MACC Inspection and Consultancy Division (BPMP) to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) through an advisory session to improve the work practices, systems and procedures for the Cooking Oil Stabilization Scheme - COSS.

The advisory session has presented the findings and recommendations to improve on the procurement procedures to the Secretary General of KPDNHEP, Datuk Seri Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad which was conducted virtually at the KPDNHEP office, today.

KPDNHEP welcomed the recommendations from the MACC and agreed to sign the Advisory Services Report with the MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato' Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil and also present was the Director of MACC BPMP, KPKPj Nazli Rasyid Sulong.

This effort is in accordance with Section 7 (c) and (e) MACC Act 2009 which provisioned the function of MACC in ensuring the work practices, systems and procedures of a government body to not create any space or opportunity for corruption.

The MACC is also ready to assist KPDNHEP towards the practices, systems and procedures to reduce the possibility of corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen the efforts and measures to prevent corruption and abuse of power in the organisation as well as empowering integrity consistently and continuously.
