SUK Pahang Actively Promoting Corporate Liability

KUANTAN, 1 April The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) welcomes the involvement of the Pahang State Secretary’s Office (SUK) in holding a Corporate Liability Briefing Program Section 17A MACC Act 2009 for Managers of Government Linked Companies (GLC) and Pahang State Statutory Bodies.

Present at the Closing Ceremony was MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato' Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil.

"The MACC welcomes support by the Pahang SUK in combating corruption with hosting programs such as today and recommends that all parties especially corporate agencies to continue supporting the efforts of eradicating corruption in the workplace.

"Corruption is a serious crime that must be dealt collaboratively and not only be the responsibility of MACC alone," he said during his keynote speech.

Earlier, a briefing regarding Corporate Liability was presented by PKPj Muhd Nur Lokman Samingan from the Community Education Division (PenMas), SPRM.

This briefing is to create awareness and to increase the understanding of Pahang SUK management regarding the enforcement, compliance and necessary steps of Section 17A that need to be taken by commercial organisations in ensuring their governance is in accordance with this provision.

Also present were the Pahang State Secretary, Dato' Sri Dr Sallehudin Ishak and Director of MACC Pahang, KPKPj Hairuzam Mohmad Amin@Hamim.
