Op Selat

On 16 November 2020, A total of 46 individuals including 27 immigration officers and 19 private citizens were arrested by MACC in “Ops Selat” that were allegedly involved in corruption activities that abuses the process of the enter and exit stamps in Malaysia. The results of the investigation has found that the accused received money from an agent since January 2007 with an estimate monthly revenue of RM10,000.00 until RM50,000.00 by allowing foreign individuals to enter and exit the country as they pleased. There were also blacklisted foreign individuals that were allowed to enter Malaysia while foreign individuals that exited were among those who committed the offence of having an expired visa. The operation produced various prosecutions at the court.
