Press statement MACC selangor

WE refer to news reports of a complaint of delay in investigations into a corruption allegation relating to Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) raised by the state assemblyman for Bukit Gasing at a press conference recently.

We had in fact responded in writing as recently as 4th December 2019 and 20th January 2020 to his queries on the status of the matter and informed him that the investigation is stil ongoing. His queries did not go unanswered.

The complaint was first received on 5th August 2019 and is being investigated by Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). The complaint is regarding an allegation of conflict of interest in the granting of a sub-contract.

I can confirm that the investigation into this matter is ongoing and is being pursued according to investigation procedures.

There is no delay by MACC in this case.

We cannot reveal specific details of the investigation as it will prejudice the ongoing probe.

Upon completion of our investigations we will accordingly forward the investigation papers to the
