Illegal Exploration Issue In Raub : Only 18 Farmers Called And Recorded Statement To Assist Investigation

Regarding the illegal exploration issue in Raub, Pahang involving durian farmers, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would like to emphasise that today, only 18 farmers have been called and have their statements recorded to assist in the investigation, instead of 50 or 30 farmers as claimed by certain parties.

For the record, 12 more individuals were also present, but none of them were involved with the investigation of the case.

To clarify, the disclaimer made by the MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki regarding the issue refers to the number of farmers called to assist in the investigation.

MACC conducts its investigation based on the law provisioned, where MACC's actions are free without pressure from any parties to obtain statements regarding this land exploration issue that still continues until today.

Presently, no arrests have been made and MACC will continue to call the parties involved to assist the investigation regarding this issue from time to time.

MACC also hopes for all parties involved in the issue to not make any speculations on the issue and allow this commission to conduct the investigation.
