MACC Denied The Allegation Made By Simpang Renggam Member Of Parliament

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission denies the allegations that the Commission's officers were involved with acts of intimidation as alleged by the Simpang Renggam Member of Parliament.

The MACC has received two reports against the Member of Parliament and is conducting an investigation into the matter.

MACC would like to emphasise that an investigation process should be carried out after there is an official report alleging corruption offence and irregularities as provided by law.

Each investigation conducted was in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) by interviewing several witnesses involved. MACC will not bow to any party that pressures the MACC to divert the issue of corruption and malpractice with various deliberate actions.

The investigation will be based on the principles of transparency, fairness and professionalism and in accordance with the law.

Therefore, the MACC hopes that the parties involved give full cooperation and stop sensationalising the issue.
