MACC Views the Case of Impersonating as Senior Officers Seriously

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested four individuals who took bribes from the party under investigation by the MACC allegedly for the purpose of resolving the case, yesterday.

The case was revealed by the cooperation from victims involved.

Therefore, the MACC advises the public to be careful with the tactics used by such suspects, namely claiming to know the MACC senior officers closely, showing pictures with MACC senior officers, showing certain cards allegedly belonging to senior officers and Deputy Public Prosecutors of the agency as well as showing pictures in the premises and prevention programs.

The tactic is used to convince the victims involved and at the same time aims to obtain bribes.

Accordingly, the public contacted by any party who introduces themselves as a MACC officer or Deputy Public Prosecutor to resolve a MACC case should refer the matter to this commission in advance for verification.

In the meantime, the MACC will not compromise and will take appropriate action if the matter involves any MACC officer.
