MACC Will Investigate New Developments in Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan’s Case

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is aware of the decision made by Kuala Lumpur High Court today, which granted the former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) on charges of accepting RM 1 million as a bribe from a businessman in 2013.

The decision to discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) does not mean that he is fully acquitted, but can still be charged at any time if granted consent to prosecute from the Attorney General's Chambers.

Regarding the same case, MACC was informed of a new development submitted by the accused and a report was made against a witness in this case, which required further investigation by MACC.

MACC will begin an investigation with the new developments and resubmit the investigation paper to the Attorney General's Chambers for consideration once completed.

However, another case against Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan is still pending for the court’s decision and has no relation with the court's decision today.
