MACC To Move Forward Driven By Strategic Plan– Dato’ Shamshun

PUTRAJAYA, 13 July 2020 – The Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Dato’ Shamshun Baharin Mohd. Jamil has officiated the Coordination Development Strategic Plan Workshop, MACC 2021 – 2025 Num. 1/2020 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, MACC Headquarters, today.

The plan had been formed in order to drive the MACC Transformation Movement 1.0 on 2010 that has set the policy so that this Commission becomes an organization that is based on strategy.

The MACC Strategic Plan is a master plan that has become an important basis to the fulfilment of function and good governance of this Commission towards the vision and mission achievement that have been set.

The Coordination Development Strategic Plan Workshop, MACC 2021 – 2025 Num. 1/2020 was held for four days beginning on 13 – 16 July 2020.

This workshop is aimed to identify issues and problems that are faced by MACC in conducting functional tasks following each other’s roles and is a platform to find the suitable recommended improvement as the desired outcome to set the initiative and comprehensive action plan in the next development phase.

Dato’ Shamshun Baharin in his speech said, this MACC Strategic Plan is a process to determine how to drive MACC from its current situation to its desired direction in the future.

“This Strategic Plan is also the main source of reference in formulating steps and target of MACC’s function implementation and good governance of this Commission like the responsibilities that were provisioned under MACC Act 2009.

“I expect full cooperation and commitment from every division to plan and manage the implementation of the development initiative, action plan and activities for 2021 – 2025 because these are the responsibilities of every division.

He added, MACC Division Directors need to be responsible to observe and ensure that the MACC Strategic Plan’s development aspirations is able to be completed perfectly to ensure the best benefits to MACC in preventing corruption in Malaysia.

The approach used in conducting this program is also hoped to make MACC more responsive and capable in being assertive to take advantage of opportunities to reach its desired future.

In attendance were the Director of Policy, Planning and Research Division, also as the Program Coordinator Chairman, TPj Mohd. Hafaz Nazar; 43 MACC Senior Officers consist of the Deputy Directors of Divisions, Deputy Directors from MACC Selangor, MACC Kuala Lumpur and MACC Putrajaya and division representatives as desk officers.
