Uzbekistan Interested In MACC'S Anti-Corruption Initiatives

PUTRAJAYA, 5 AUGUST - The Embassy of Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia today had a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). The Uzbekistan Ambassador, Ravshan Usmanov and two other officers were received by the MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki.

Ravshan said that this courtesy visit will strengthen relationship between two parties while this collaboration will help to eradicate corruption in both countries. 

"Uzbekistan hopes to collaborate and have a chance to share expertise with MACC to empower acts regarding anti-corruption in Uzbekistan", he said. He added, Uzbekistan is also interested in conducting a video conference with MACC regarding MACC's background, function, best practices and suggested to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MACC and his country.

Datuk Seri Azam welcomed this collaborative chance and ready to share information regarding MACC's enforcement acts, initiatives and rising issues on anti-corruption and agrees with Uzbekistan’s suggestion that hopes to use appropriate online platform during the current situation.

In attendance were MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato' Shamshun Baharin Mohd. Jamil; Secretariat Officer of the MACC Chief Commissioner Office, Dato Azmi Kamaruzaman and the Director of Policy, Planning and Research, TPj Mohd. Hafaz Nazar.
