IPOH, 11 Oct - Perak Local Authority (PBT) are asked to take proactive ways to change people negative perceptions with giving 'clean' service and be the agent to fight against corruption, said the Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) MACC, Dato' Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd. Jamil.

"Any government agencies including PBT can apply to the MACC to know the level of each agency which is measured using the Public Service Corruption Ranking (PSCR) mechanism.

"The PSCR can become the pioneer towards the restructuring initiative of the department's anti-corruption prevention, so it can be improved in the future", he said.

He said that when he was the panelist in the "PBT As Fighting Agent Against Bribers: Reality of Fantasy?" during the PBT Fights Against Bribers Program at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Perak Darul Ridzuan Building here, today.

Besides that, he also welcomed PBT's cooperation to report corruption and also stated about the certification program to public officers that reported the offering of bribes.

The forum panelists were the Perak State Secretary, YB. Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and the Deputy Director-General (Management and Development) Local Authority Department, Mohammad Ridzuan Abidin. Meanwhile, the forum moderator was PKPj Mohd. Nur Lokman Samingan from the Community Education Division (PenMas).

In attendance were the MACC Perak Director, Dato' Mohd. Fauzi Mohamad and the MACC PenMas Division Director, TPj Razim Mohd. Noor.
