Formation of IGU Assist Companies To Fight Corruption

 PUTRAJAYA, 12 Oct. - The Integrity and Governance Units (IGU) was formed to assist Government Linked Companies (GLC) to strengthen their internal control to prevent corruption, abuse of power and embezzlement symptoms.

The MACC Chief Commissioner , Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the formation of IGU can create a business culture that is clean, healthy and can increase the country's economy.

"Cooperation and commitment from all parties can benefit and encourage the implementation of integrity officers' role more effectively," he said.

He added that officers at the IGU are drivers to the implementation of anti-corruption initiatives where the Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) need to be synchonised with the IGU with solid commitment from the organisation's Top Management.

He said that while chairing the Mesyuarat Ketua Pegawai Integriti (CIGO), Siri 2 Bil. 1 Tahun 2020 at Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya.

This meeting is also one of MACC's initiative as a sharing medium and benchmarking among members of the meeting.

Meanwhile, CIGO's role in a GLC is truly important in establishing an integrity culture through four (4) main cores, which are Complaint Management, Detection, Confirmation and Integrity and Governance Strengthening.

In attendance were the MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Management & Professionalism), Dato' Junipah Wandi and MACC Director of Agency Integrity Management Division (BPIA), KPKPj Nurahim Abd Rahim.
