PUTRAJAYA, 22 August - The MACC join hands with Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) to pursue good governance practices to combat corruption, with the organisation of Anti-Corruption Seminar together with Top Management of BERNAS.

Participated by 40 attending members including Top Management and Heads of BERNAS Departments led by BERNAS Group Chief Financial Officer, Encik Eric Koh Boon Chuan.

Head of Private Branch, MACC Community Education Division, PKPj Mohd Hasraff Hashim in his opening speech emphasised on the fight against corruption in the business sector is empowered through the Corporate Liability Provision S17A MACC Act 2009, to ensure that commercial organisations take responsibility and effective preventive measures in their respective organizations. BERNAS has showed its commitment through the introduction of 'BERNAS Code of Conduct' and 'BERNAS Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy'.

The program was also filled with briefings on MACC Act 2009 offences and dialogue sessions on management issues and fund leakage.
