Anti-Corruption And Best Governance Practices With Freight Companies

KLANG, 8 August - The MACC has organised the Anti-Corruption and Best Governance Culture Programme with Freight Forwarders Malaysia as a continuous education effort to prevent leakage in government revenue collection and combat corruption among logistics industry operators.

 

The programme, jointly organised by MACC and FMFF, was attended by FMFF President, Mr. Alvin Chua Seng Wah and Head of Private Branch, Community Education Division, PKPj Mohd Hasraff bin Hashim with the participation of 40 freight forwarders.

 

PKPj Mohd Hasraff in his speech said that reforms day-to-day operations that are free of corruption should begin from the collective desire at every level. MACC through Community Education Division as a division that provides corruption prevention education is always willing to collaborate with any party to conduct anti-corruption programs.

 

Meanwhile, the Chairman of FMFF, Mr. Alvin said that such programs should continue to be held to enhance the understanding of logistics industry operators on the do’s and don’ts in  strengthening daily operations to strengthen strategic cooperation between government bodies and private sector, and to curb the symptoms of corruption from continuing.

 

The program involved briefing and dialogue sessions on corruption offences under the MACC Act 2009 and corruption issues involving the leakage of freight forwarders and parties at Malaysian ports as well as those involved in the freight forwarders chain.
