MACC Collaborates With Perak Fishing Community Towards Leakage Of Funds For Diesel Subsidy Scheme And Fisherman's Petrol Prevention
IPOH, 9 July – MACC with collaboration of the Community Development Division and Fishermen's Organisation, the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) has organised the MACC Joint Fishermen's Community Anti-Corruption Programme (Management of Diesel Subsidy and Fishermen's Petrol Scheme) at Dewan Perdana, Hotel Seri Malaysia, Ipoh, Perak.
The two-day programme, which began on July 7, was attended by 50 people from the board of directors of the fishermen's association from 7 Perak Fishermen's Association (PNK) namely PNK Kerian, PNK Matang, PNK Sg. Tinggi, PNK Manjung Utara, PNK Manjung Selatan, PNK Pulau Pangkor, and PNK Hilir Perak.
This programme aims to provide understanding and knowledge on corruption and abuse of power among members of the Fishermen's Association who are directly involved in the management and operation of the diesel and petrol subsidy government assistance fund scheme.
The first day programme began with a talk session by the Head of Sociocultural and Political Branch (CSBP), Community Education Division (PenMas), MACC, PKPj Ramli Hassan entitled "Corruption Issues and Subsidy Leaks in the Fishermen's Community". The second day of the programme began with a briefing sharing session entitled "Management of the Implementation of Diesel and Petrol Fishermen's Subsidy Scheme" which was presented by the Director of Community Development and Fishermen's Organisation Division, LKIM, Norfajarwati Baharudin (LKIM).
The programme continued with a dialogue session entitled "Management of Fund Allocation and Subsidies of Transparent and Corruption-Free Fishermen's Community" by the Deputy Director General (Development), LKIM, Hamdan Mamat and Deputy Director, PenMas Division of MACC, KPKPj Ab Muneim Ibrahim as a panellist. The programme ended with closing ceremony officiated by the Director of PenMas Division, MACC, Datuk Razim Mohd Noor.
Also present were the Chairman of the Perak Fishermen's Association (PENGGERAK), Mansor Yusoff and Deputy Director of Operations, Perak State MACC, KPKPj Mustafa Kamal Ahmad.
