MACC Encourage JAKIM To Strengthen Integrity And Avoid Corruption

PUTRAJAYA, 6 June - MACC together with Integrity Unit, Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) conducted Anti-Corruption Awareness in Halal Industry Management Program for auditors understanding and awareness in halal enforcement, and ensuring the integrity of JAKIM officers and refrain from corrupt practices.

 

Targeting officers in the operational specifically auditors involved in monitoring and compliance with halal certification, the program aimed to increase awareness upon the risks of misuse of power, information leakage, sponsorship issues and external influences in decision making.

 

JAKIM's Halal Division Director, Haji Mohd Zamri Shafik who was also a panelist in dialogue session 'Identifying the Risk Level of the Halal Industry', acknowledged that guidelines and certification SOPs must be comply without compromise and leave no room for corruption. The session were also paneled by PenMas Deputy Outreach Director, KPKPj Ab. Muneim Ibrahim.

 

Prior, the program begins with slot ‘Interaksi & Refleksi: Ada ke Tiada' followed by sharing session from ex-corruption offender, Md. Sharizal Che Dan (Castello) to raise awareness on impacts of corruption.
