MACC Tawau encourages Sabah Softwoods Berhad to enhance good financial governance to avoid leakages

TAWAU, 17 May - MACC Tawau is committed to continue working together with Sabah Softwood Berhad (SSB) to prevent leakage in Sabah’s revenue and produce. The commitment  is conveyed with the launch of Anti-Corruption management system ISO 37001:2016.

 

Main objective of this event is to help provide anti-corruption education and advisory services related to procurement issues. The anti-corruption talk was delivered by PPj Richard Hii Ding Yin, head of the Tawau MACC branch. All of 84 SSB staff member, including head of departments and plantation managers were encouraged to strengthen anti-corruption culture and improve financial governance efficiently, and be alert of any loopholes in work procedures to prevent leakage.

 

Corruption Free Pledge (IBR) ceremony begins with opening remark from YBhg. Datuk Mohd Arsyad Bin Bistari, The Chairman of the board of directors of SSB. In his speech, he noted that programme was in line with SSB's intention to curb corruption and abuse of power as well as improve the level of integrity in the top management and all SSB staff.

 

Also present, Datuk Haji Mohd Daud bin Tampokong, SSB’s Chief Executive Officer and members of the board.
