PERKESO Adamant to Prevent Corruption

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 Nov. - The Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) is a pledge made by the leadership of an organisation to strengthen integrity, good governance and prevent corruption in the organisation. It is hoped that the individual who signed the pledge will be more responsible to perform their duties and to refrain from any acts of corruption.

Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam Baki said, the commitment by the Board of Directors of the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) through the IBR is very important to show the stand of the organisation’s top management on the prevention of corruption.

“I hope the IBR programme today is not only characterised as a ‘one-off’ or cosmetic. But, it needs to be followed with various actions by the top management of SOCSO in the efforts to strengthen the integrity of its staff.

“Furthermore, ‘action at the top’ is more important. The organisation’s leadership should not only talk, but be a role model for the organisation’s staff to follow as the English saying goes, action speaks louder than words," he said.

He added that the trust and duties given must be carried out with full integrity, and together we must pray that the efforts to fight corruption and abuse of power can uphold the country’s name as an exemplary nation that is free of corruption.

This IBR pledge was led by Deputy Secretary General (Operations) of the Ministry of Human Resources, Datuk Muhd Khair Razman Mohamed Anuar and witnessed by Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam.

In attendance were Chief Executive of SOCSO, Dato Sri Dr Mohammed Azman Dato' Aziz Mohammed; Chairman of the Board of SOCSO Rehabilitation Center Sdn. Bhd., Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid; Chairman of Governance, Ethics, Audit and Risk Committee of the SOCSO Board, Wee Hock Kee and Director of MACC Community Education Division, Datuk Razim Mohd Noor.
