Shah Alam, 5 August - The Ruler of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has granted an audience to the Chief Commissioner of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commissioner (MACC), Datuk Seri Azam Baki at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam, today.

Datuk Seri Azam Baki expressed his gratitude to Tuanku Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj for granting his request to brief and present the current status of corruption cases in Selangor.

Also present during the briefing was Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.

During the two-hour audience, His Royal Highness expressed his concern over the latest development of the cases and hoped the MACC is able to conduct transparent and thorough investigations so that the perpetrators brought to court will not escape easily.

This is following the press statement on 28 July 2021 by the Sultan’s  private secretary Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani which stated that Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj had expressed his disappointment over several Selangor government officials’ involvement in corruption which could tarnish the administrative image and reputation of all government officials in Selangor.

The MACC accepts His Majesty’s decree and gave assurance to increase the efforts of fighting corruption, abuse of power, misappropriation, and empowering integrity among the people of Selangor.
