MACC Succesfully In Hosting Integrity E-Seminar Involving KSU and SUKN in The Effort To Strengthen Public Sector Integrity

PUTRAJAYA, 25 MARCH -The Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali stated that government servants are important assets *in establishing a better government administration system which is increasingly more challenging in  this new era of change.

A high integrity public delivery system is needed  to ensure government policies can be implemented effectively. Some factors causing the shortfall are the leakage of internal/ personal integrity, lack of transparency in decision making and a cluttered institution structure; all of which should be addressed immediately in order to achieve good governance.

"Service delivery is a key element in ensuring the services provided are for the people. The delivery system must be effective, trustworthy and customer friendly. It must be holistic in order to become a foundation to the country’s safety and economic stability,” he emphasised.

Furthermore, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki also reminded that Department Heads should be mindful with the lifestyle change of their subordinating officers and to act quickly in avoiding misconduct and breach of integrity. They were also encouraged to be good role models in order to safeguard the image of their department and public service as a whole.

All this was said while being one of the panellists in the Plenary Session "Exploring Issues and Challenges of Strengthening Integrity in the Public Sector” as part of the Integrity E-Seminar Course for the Chief  Secretaries to the Government (KSU) and State Secretaries (SUKN), “You Are  Integrity Champions" programme at the KSN Office today.
