MACC Recognises of MIA Professionals

PUTRAJAYA, 23 March – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki express his pride to the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) in their concern of improving anti -corruption management in its institution.

Datuk Seri Azam Baki said, accountant is a gatekeeper of an organisation, thus accountant professionals should have responsibility in their self.

“The cultivation of integrity and accountability values is part of the work ethics that needs to be taken seriously. Unethical attitudes in an organisation can cause a person to lose the value of self -integrity.

“We need to remind them on actions that might undermine organisation and self-integrity. If convicted, they must be prepared to accept the punishment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Azam welcomed the cooperation from MIA to collaborate with MACC especially in an effort to tackle corruption symptoms such as organising training and establishing an integrity unit.

He mentioned it during the courtesy visit by MIA delegation to the MACC Headquarters today.

Also present, the Chief Executive Officer of MIA, Dr Nurmazilah Dato’ Mahzan; Executive Director of Surveillance & Enforcement, Dato’ Hj. Muhammad Redzuan Abdullah; Director of Integrity and Performance Management Division MACC, KPKPj Nurahim Abd. Rahim and the Director of Financial Analysis Division MACC, KPKPj Mohd Azwan Ramli.
