The Chief Secretary Chaired National Anti-Corruption Committee Virtual Meeting

Putrajaya, 6 Feb. - The Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali chaired the National Anti-Corruption Committee (JAR) Meeting, Series 5 No. 1 of 2021 at the MACC Headquarters, yesterday.

The meeting in compliance with the procedures of Movement Control Order (PKP) was held involving all members, namely the Secretary General (KSU) of the Ministry and the State Secretary (SUK) nationwide.

In the Chairman's Message during the opening remark, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki said the JAR Meeting is the best mechanism to address the issue of integrity and anti-corruption in the public services in ensuring the agenda of the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) and Organizational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) implemented with full commitment. 

"Elements of integrity and anti-corruption need to be emphasized in all matters at various levels, not only at the lower level but also at the middle and upper levels," he said.

In the meeting, he also requested all civil servants to be able to serve with full trust without causing problems, live a dignified life and do not practice corruption.

Among the key issues agreed at the meeting were related to the implementation of integrity courses involving KSU, SUK and GLC Chief Executive Officer (CEO); avoiding the involvement of Integrity Unit (UI) Officers in fund-related & procurement meetings; review of government premises rental rules as a yield of Sports & Recreation Club and PUSPANITA; as well as the issue of river pollution.

Also in attendance were, MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki; MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention), Dato 'Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil and the Director of Public Sector Governance Division, Dato' Nor Azmi Karim.
