Our policy on information placed on Timeline of Cases

The objective of Timeline of Cases is to provide accurate, official information to the public on the status of selected MACC cases that are of public interest.

We try to provide as much information as we can without compromising on-going investigations, prejudicing the right of the accused to a fair trial, or causing avoidable reputational damage or harm to individuals or organisation under investigation.

The MACC will not generally comment on an investigation until the point where charges (if any) are filed. The situation may change if the issue is of great public interest and has garnered wide-spread media attention, then the MACC may confirm an investigation without divulging details.
