Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2023 Score Has Increased: MACC Commited To Combat Corruption

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) would like to refer to the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 as announced by Transparency International - Malaysia (TI-Malaysia), today.

Malaysia managed to improve its position, with an increase of four positions, from 61st to 57th position out of 180 countries, as well as improve its score from 47 to 50, an increase of three points after a downward trend since 2019.

According to TI-Malaysia, among the reasons that contributed to the increase in the scores are the investigations, arrests and convictions of high-profile MACC cases over the past two years.

MACC is committed to combat corruption by eliminating any forms of corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation within its jurisdiction as a single entity entrusted to fight against corruption in Malaysia.

In this regards, MACC would like to call upon all parties to continue to collaborate with a common vision, as well as having the political will to improve anti-corruption strategies and good governance in order to achieve the government's target for Malaysia to be ranked the 25th position in the CPI score by 2033.
