Kuala Lumpur, 30 Nov. - Telekom Malaysia (TM) today launched its Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) to strengthen efforts to fight corruption in accordance with the National Anti-Corruption Plan 2019-2023 to develop a corruption-free country.

The MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Dato' Sri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said the TM’s initiative to launch the OACP reflected the organisation’s commitment in the effort to eradicate corruption as well as to strengthen integrity in the organisation.

“It is hoped that the OACP document launched is not deemed only as ceremonial but it must be followed with the implementation of anti-corruption measures, corruption risk action plan and continuous monitoring until integrity is made a daily habit whether in official duties or personal affairs.

“After this, there should be reports and implementation of planned actions to ensure the OACP is not only a dormant document but must be used as a living document which is always referred to reduce issues of corruption, abuse of power, integrity and governance,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the TM Integrity Day 2021 Celebration at TM Convention Center, here, today.

He added that weaknesses in leadership and the management of an organisation will provide the space and opportunity for the giver and receiver of bribes to commit crimes.

“Apart from that, issues of integrity also need to be addressed because not only can it cause the loss of trust to an individual or organisation but it can also threaten the security, harmony and well-being of the country,” he explained.

In conjunction with the celebration, a Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) Declaration and Signing Ceremony was led by the Chief Executive Officer of TM Group, Imri Mokhtar and witnessed by Dato’ Sri Ahmad Khusairi.

Meanwhile, the Forum on Strengthening Integrity In an Organisation was also held which featured the MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Seri Norazlan Mohd Razali and President of Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) Dr. Muhammad Mohan as the guest panel. This forum acts as a platform to share information and provide explanation related to corruption malpractices in an organisation.

In attendance were Chairman of TM, Tan Sri Mohammed Azlan Hashim; Director General of the National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (GIACC), Datuk Seri Mohd Sallehuddin Hassan; Director of MACC Community Education Division, Datuk Razim Mohd Noor and Chief Integrity and Governance Officer of TM Group, KPKPj Abdul Razak Deraol.
