MACC Confirmed Mahiaddin Was Arrested And Will Be Charged Tomorrow

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that the commission had arrested former Prime Minister, Tan Sri Dato' Haji Mahiaddin bin Md Yasin at about 1.00pm at the MACC Headquarters after he arrived to give his statement in order to complete final investigations regarding the Jana Wibawa project and other related issues. 

Accordingly, the MACC has also received consent to prosecute from the Attorney General's Office to charge Mahiaddin at the Kuala Lumpur Court on 10th March 2023.

Mahiaddin who is also the President of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) will face a number of charges under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009 and Section 4(1)b of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA).
