The national-level celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day 2021 (IACD 2021) today targets the involvement of the expatriate professional community in the country to fight against corruption together with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Themed ‘Your Right, Your Role: Say No To Corruption,’ the MACC shared anti-corruption related initiatives implemented by the government and the MACC in recent years.
At the headquarters level, the MACC held briefing sessions and dialogues involving MACC top management with business expatriates representing countries such as the United States, European Union (EU), China, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia and Chinese Taipei.
The programme was also conducted simultaneously by the MACC State Offices physically and virtually between the MACC and international corporate leaders involving various industry sectors in selected locations.
The IACD 2021 celebration was held following the proclamation of the United Nations (UN) in 2003 which set 9 December each year as the IACD celebration.
In conjunction with the celebration, the MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam Baki has delivered his message on the importance of fighting corruption and abuse of power during the IACD 2021 Opening Ceremony in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, today.
The programme, jointly organised by the MACC and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Foundation (YARM), this time received the cooperation of three strategic partners, namely the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M) and the Association of Certified Integrity Officers Malaysia (ACeIO).
