Managing Government Aid to Sports Bodies Anti-corruption Programme 2022

PUTRAJAYA , 25 September  The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in partnership with the Office of the Commissioner of Sports (PPS) Malaysia organised the Managing Government Aid to Sports Bodies Anti-corruption Programme 2022 (Management and Programme Aid) at the MACC Headquarters Putrajaya.

The joint programme involved about 53 sports bodies from various levels, in particular those around Putrajaya, Selangor and Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur.

The idea for this programme sparked from the MACC Strategic Plan 2021-2025 that targets three essential strategies, namely Enforcement, Procurement and Grand Corruption, which aims to instill integrity, good governance and anti-corruption values.

The purpose of this programme is to foster the best sports management in an anti-corruption organisation towards eradicating leakage of government funds for purposes other than sports development in Malaysia, in addition to fostering their support to cooperate with MACC in fighting corruption and abuse of power in this country.

The programme began with a talk entitled "Corruption Issues in Financial Management and Procurement" delivered by the Deputy Director (Outreach) of the MACC Community Education Division, Chief SAC Ab Muneim Ibrahim.

Also held was a dialogue and Q&A session for the topic "Issues in Government Fund Leakage in National Sports Development" with the Director of the Community Education Division (CommEdu), Datuk Razim Mohd Noor and Senior Sports Assistant Commissioner, PPS Malaysia, Mr. Hasli Izwan Amir Hasan.

Also in attendance were Mr. Hatta Haji Mohd Yasin, Chief Assistant Sports Commissioner, PPS Malaysia; SAC Ramli Hassan, Head of the Sociocultural and Politics Branch and officers from CommEdu.
