Melaka State Government Implements IBR To Fight Corruption

JOHOR BAHRU, 15 Dec. - The Melaka State Government heeded the call by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) by pledging and signing the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) at Forest City, today.

The pledging session was led by the Chief Minister of Melaka, Datuk Seri Utama Sulaiman Md Ali together with 23 State Executive Council (EXCO) Members as well as the Barisan Nasional (BN) Melaka State Assemblymen and witnessed by the MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations), Dato' Sri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya.

Dato' Sri Ahmad Khusairi said this initiative has proven the serious commitment of the Melaka State Government in the effort to empower clean and transparent governance to ensure the organisational administration can be implemented with more transparency and free from corruption.

This ceremony has shown the high and strong commitment by the state government to create a state which is corruption free and maintain a zero tolerance against corruption crimes.

“This action can strengthen the sense of responsibility among administrative staff to perform their respective duties and to distance themselves from acts of corruption especially during the tenure of their current positions,” he said.

He said this during his speech at the Chief Minister Corruption-Free Pledge Ceremony Together With State Executive Council (EXCO) Members and Melaka State Assemblymen.

He added that the MACC always welcomes collaboration with any agencies under the administration of the Melaka State Government to implement the anti-corruption education programmes.

In attendance were the Director of MACC Johor, Dato' Azmi Alias and Director of MACC Melaka, PKPj Mohd Shahril Che Saad.
