MACC - MRT Corp Collaborate To Disseminate Anti-Corruption Messages

Kuala Lumpur, 22 Nov. - The fight against corruption will not be successful without completing three strategies which are enforcement, prevention and education.

Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam Baki said, through the prevention strategy, the MACC offers advisory services to strengthen systems and procedures as well as to study corruption risks through the Corruption Risk Management (CRM) and the development of the Organizational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP).

The education strategy on the other hand, is unique because it is implemented comprehensively, consistently and uses various approaches, he added.

Therefore, if any companies or agencies need advisory services or aim to implement awareness programmes, the MACC's doors are always open and ready to assist.

"The efforts to strengthen integrity and prevention of corruption are noble causes. This is a shared responsibility that we must all carry. We want Malaysia to be a country known for its integrity and not for corruption,” he said.

He said this during the Launching Ceremony of the Anti-Corruption Awareness Campaign in Public Transport in collaboration between the MACC and MRT Corp.

In this campaign, posters of anti-corruption will be displayed in the form of printed and digital media in trains and MRT stations. This campaign is expected to attract the interest of 1.45 million users of MRT services, therefore it is an effective approach to disseminate anti-corruption messages to the public.

In attendance were Chief Executive Officer of MRT Corp, Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim; Senior General Manager of SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, Mohd Hamim Imam Mustain; Chief Integrity Officer of MRT Corp, Dato' Zainal Adam and Director of Strategic Communication, PKPj Kamaruddin M. Ripin
