Overcome Corruption And Fraud Misconduct : Top Management Plays Important Role To Strengthen Organisational Transparency And Integrity
Putrajaya, 15 Nov. - The top management plays an important role to strengthen awareness, transparency and integrity in an organisation to ensure activities of corruption and fraud can be addressed comprehensively.
The Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Tan Sri Dato' Sri Azam Baki said, every party needs to strive to strengthen trust and transparency in an organisation in order for Malaysia to achieve its aspirations as a corruption-free country.
Every organisation needs to establish strong regulations such as corporate governance, whistleblower procedures and corporate liability in their respective organisations.
In addition, whistleblowing also functions as an internal control mechanism to identify and to eradicate any corruption practices or misconduct which affects the organisation," he said.
He said that while officiating the Fifth Opening Ceremony of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (KIBB) Fraud Awareness Week (FAW) 2021 which was held virtually here, today.
The awareness campaign will be held for a month starting from 15 November 2021 and hopes to raise the awareness of participants and industry players apart from gaining their support to jointly fight corruption and fraud.
The campaign with the theme, "Strengthening Ethical Values Through Regulatory Dynamics" is participated by more than 290 representatives from MACC, Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Security Commission Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, Employees Provident Fund and Kenanga Group.
Tan Sri Dato' Sri Azam added that the MACC always welcomes the public to come forward and report any corruption and fraud to the MACC for further actions to be taken to address the issue.
In attendance were Founder and Advisor of Kenanga Group, Tan Sri Dato' Paduka Tengku Noor Zakiah Tengku Ismail; Chairman of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Syed Zainol Anwar Ibni Syed Putra Jamalullail and President of Malaysian Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Dato' Sri Akhbar Satar.
