KBS Is Open And Responsible To Address Issues Of Corruption

PUTRAJAYA, 9 Nov. - The Organizational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) is an anti-corruption policy document at the organizational level which aims to address issues and weaknesses of governance, integrity and anti-corruption in an organisation. This is in accordance with the initiative 2.1.5. of the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019 - 2023 which requires public sectors to develop this OACP.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki said, a profitable investment is not only to implement activities which are beneficial towards the objectives of the agency. But, investments of time, energy and finance to develop staff integrity in an organization must also be seen as important. Therefore, efforts involving integrity and prevention of corruption not only need to be implemented, but must be seen to be implemented.

“I view this matter as evidence and proof of the commitment shown by the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) to strengthen the integrity of its staff.

“As the main agency to prevent corruption, the MACC is committed to implement enforcement, prevention and education measures to eradicate any forms of corruption and abuse of power as well as willing to collaborate with any party,” he said.

He added as the proverb ‘prevention is better than cure’ goes, activities of education and prevention need to be implemented to prevent corruption, misappropriation and abuse of power especially among the staff of KBS and agencies under the supervision of KBS. Datuk Seri Azam also reminded that "as there are no givers, there are no takers.”

He said that at the Integrity Day Celebration and KBS Organizational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) Launching Ceremony which was held at Menara KBS today.

Meanwhile, staff of KBS also participated in the Corruption Free Pledge (IBR) led by Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Dato’ Seri Faizal Dato’ Azumu, witnessed by Datuk Seri Azam.

Also present were Deputy Minister of KBS, YB Senator Dato' Sri Ti Lian Ker; Director of MACC Community Education Division, Datuk Razim Mohd Noor; Director of MACC Agency Integrity Management, KPKPj Nurahim Abd Rahim; Deputy Secretary General (Management) of KBS, Abdullah Hassan and Deputy Secretary General (Strategic) of KBS, Ramona Mohd Razali.
