Integrity As A Weapon To Combat Corruption
KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Nov. - Strong integrity is a weapon inside every person to not be involved in any acts of corruption, abuse of power and misappropriation.
Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Seri Azam Baki said each individual needs to possess strong determination to reject acts of corruption even when faced with intense pressure.
Some of the causes of corruption are due to low spirituality and faith in an individual.
Apart from that, the factor of weakness in leadership and management of an organisation can also provide the space and opportunity to bribers and their receivers to commit the crime," he said.
He said this while officiating the Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) Integrity Day 2021 at Menara UOA, here, today.
He added that the MACC hopes this long term collaboration with Prasarana will be beneficial in the effort to combat corruption in all kinds of business affairs.
"The MACC will always be committed to perform its duties and be ready to receive information and complaints of abuse of power in order to turn Malaysia into a corruption-free country," he added.
Also present at the ceremony was President cum Chief Executive Officer of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Group, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah.
