The MACC Chief Commissioner Appointed As The Board Of Governors (BOG) Of IACA
PUTRAJAYA, 28 Oct. -The Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Datuk Seri Azam Baki was officially appointed as a Member of the Board of Governors (BoG), International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) effective on 27 October 2021 for the period of 2021-2024.
The IACA is an international anti-corruption training institution based in Vienna, Austria. Its governance mechanism is divided into five components, namely the Dean, the Board of Governors, the International Senior Advisory Board, the International Academic Advisory Board, and the Assembly of Parties (AoP).
The AoP was held annually, and this year was the 10th AoP that was held on 7 October 2021. Among the agenda discussed was the election of BoG members. Due to some technical and administrative issues, the selection of BoG members was postponed to a special meeting session ‘Resumed 10th session of the AoPs’ which was held on 27 October 2021 at the Vienna International Center, Vienna.
Malaysia was represented by YBhg. Datuk Seri Mohd Sallehhuddin bin Hassan, Director General of the Governance, Integrity and Anti - Corruption Center (GIACC) and Tuan Mohd Yunus Ibrahim from the Malaysian Representative Office, MALAWAKIL Vienna, Wisma Putra.
This selection and appointment is the highest honour and appreciation for the MACC and Malaysia, where it is able to contribute through the sharing and exchange of expertise at the international level in corruption prevention.
Apart from that, this appointment is a continuation of the recognition received by the former MACC Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed who also held the same position.
