PUTRAJAYA, 21 APRIL -The strategic cooperation between the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata) & Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom) was strengthened in order to assist in empowering the anti-corruption agenda in this country.

The MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Azam Baki said, the anti-corruption agenda must be expanded and improved in order to create awareness on this crime.

"I believe that Axiata and its subsidiary, Celcom has performed various efforts and responsibilities in the aspect of adequate measures as the company's commitment to close any space or opportunity for corruption from occurring in their organisation," he said.

He added, MACC is ready to collaborate with Axiata and Celcom in sharing views, improving systems and procedures for any policymaker initiatives as well as conducting a Corruption Free Pledge Ceremony (IBR) with MACC in the future.

Also present were the President & Chief Executive Officer of Axiata Group Berhad, Dato' Izzaddin Idris; Chief Executive Officer of Celcom Axiata Berhad, Tuan Mohamad Idham Nawawi; Director of MACC Community Education Division (PenMas), Datuk Razim Mohd Noor and Director of MACC Inspection and Consultation Division (BPMP), KPKPj Nazli Rasyid Hj Sulong.
