The Agency Integrity Management Division (BPIA) serves as the coordinator for the implementation of an Integrity Unit’s (IU) functions, in addition to establishing policies and integrity management mechanism through the establishment of IU in external agencies.
To stand as the main reference centre for internal control in agencies in terms of corruption prevention and integrity institutionalisation in the public and corporate sector in Malaysia.
To enhance the effectiveness of agency management in corruption prevention and integrity institutionalisation in Malaysia.
- To increase the quality of agency management in integrity enhancement and in the fight against corruption through control on public agencies and entities with government interest in Malaysia;
- To increase capability in the management of corruption prevention and integrity through studies and macro-policy assessmen; and
- To develop relations for strategic collaboration at the domestic and global level in the aspect of integrity institutionalisation and corruption prevention.
The Integrity Units (IU) are required to implement the following 6 core functions as outlined in Circular No. 6/2013:
- Integrity Enhancement
- Detection and Verification
- Complaints Management
The IU is established with the purpose of ensuring excellent work practice amongst public officers, imbued with moral values and strong ethics, which in turn enhances the spirit of patriotism. This initiative could curb violation of conducts and ethics among the public officers in an organisation.
