Corporate Integrity System Malaysia (CISM) Round Table Discussion Series 37 No. 1 Year 2020


MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil chaired the Corporate Integrity System Malaysia (CISM) Round Table Discussion (RTD) Series 37 No. 1 Year 2020 in Impiana Hotel KLCC, Kuala Lumpur on 10 August 2020.

Also present were other CISM Roundtable members that included Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (GIACC), MACC Inspection and Consultation (BPMP) Director Nazli Rasyid Hj Sulong, MACC BPMP Deputy Director I Salwa Muharam as well as MACC BPMP Branch A Officers that functioned as the CISM Secretariat.

The CISM Round Table serves as a platform to discuss the issues, roles and commitment from every RTD members to strengthen efforts to cultivate ethics, anti-corruption and integrity among the business community in this country. The Round Table also ensures integrity, ethics and responsibility of businesses are enhanced under the national anti-corruption plan, guidelines and industries’ best practices.

Round Table members consists of MACC as the custodian; two agencies functioning as implementers that is the IIM and TI-M; as well as 4 other agencies functioning as promoter that is GIACC, Bursa Malaysia, SSM and SC.

Through the CISM Round Table platform, continuous commitment from all members and their function as promoter and implementer would be increased and widened to ensure better collaboration in fighting corruption especially involving its stakeholders in the private sector.

MACC would continue its function as custodian and caretaker of the CISM system that served as the reference centre in the implementation of CISM initiatives by CIPv2.0 signatories.

At the end of the RTD, there was a symbolic handing over ceremony of CISM chairperson and secretariat function between MACC’s Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin to IIM Chief Executive Officer Nor'afiza Saim.

The briefing and discussion with Altel Holding Sdn Bhd regarding the Corporate Integrity Pledge was held on 22 January 2020 at the Inspection and Consultation Division Meeting Room in MACC Headquarters.

CISM 2020 – 2022 Strategic Planning Workshop


MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Dato’ Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil officiated the CISM 2020 – 2022 Strategic Planning Workshop on 6 September 2019 in Best Western I-City Hotel, Shah Alam.

Also present were CISM Round Table members from Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM), Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M), Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) as well as the National Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (GIACC).

The aim of this Workshop is to establish the vision, mission, objectives of the Strategic Plan as reference for CISM members as well as the way forward for the CISM 2020-2022 Strategic Plan that would be presented during the next CISM meeting.

There was also a discussion on upgrading the CISM Portal that was developed internally by MACC as well as making it a One Stop Centre for CISM members to explain about CIP and other corruption prevention initiatives to interested companies.

CIP and ABMS Road Tour (Centre Zone)


A CIP and ABMS Briefing was held on 11 April 2019 in the Kuala Lumpur MACC Main Meeting Room.

Thirteen Prevention Sector officers from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor MACC State Office were briefed about the CIP content and work process to prepare them for the newer version of CIP as well as other corruption prevention initiatives that would be launched later.

CIP Soft Launch


MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Dato’ Sri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil officiated the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) Soft Launch on 9 April 2019 in MACC Headquarters.

There were briefings on Corporate Liability and an Introduction to Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP).

The Soft Launch garnered support from Corporate Integrity System Malaysia (CISM) Round Table members and their presence strengthened the notion that fulfilling CIP is a neccessary obligation for companies under Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009.

CIP and ABMS Road Tour (Northern Zone)

A CIP and ABMS Briefing was held on 14 March 2019 in the Penang MACC Main Meeting Room.

Twenty two Prevention Sector officers from Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Penang MACC State Office were briefed about the CIP content and work process to prepare them for the newer version of CIP as well as other corruption prevention initiatives that would be launched later.

CIP and ABMS Road Tour (Southern Zone)

A CIP and ABMS Briefing was held on 12 March 2019 in the Melaka MACC Main Meeting Room.

Fourteen Prevention Sector officers from Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor MACC State Office were briefed about the CIP content and work process to prepare them for the newer version of CIP as well as other corruption prevention initiatives that would be launched later.
