Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah s.w.t for his blessings as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has successfully achieved another goal under its transformation plan (Towards People’s Centric) by introducing MACC’s Multilingual portal version 3.0.
I would like to congratulate all the MACC officers and staff who have put in so much effort and worked tirelessly to construct the portal.
In the current world, cyberspace has become the main medium for the new generation. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to ensure that this portal will be the facilitator for the public to get information in a more simple and effective way.
The portal, which was launched on 9 December 2015, was developed with the appropriate and achievable responsive design technology that can be accessed via with a wide range of Information Technology tools.
Hence the portal would facilitate those who want to obtain information about MACC more easily, quickly and effectively.
To ensure MACC's ability the three key strategies and core businesses of MACC, namely: Operations, Prevention and Education are explained to the public through this portal.
All three areas are the key platforms to ensure people understand the functions and roles of the MACC clearly.
The three main strategy of MACC:
Operational: Launch operations that include conducting investigations, gathering information, provide forensic services, develop and manage information and as well as handle court cases.
Prevention: Strengthen the governance in public and private sectors, close the gap and opportunity for corruption by ensuring the rules and regulations, and existing ethics in an organization are adhered.
Education: To educate the public and gain their support to fight and eradicate corruption.
Besides emphasising the three main thrusts of MACC, users can also gain access to Malaysia Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) and Anti-Corruption and Ethics (ACE) portals using a micro site based on a look-and-feel concept, which is the same as the main portal.
Meanwhile, the MACC has also introduced the Mandarin version of the portal in order to enhance understanding and reduce the disparity between the Chinese community and the MACC. This would help the Chinese community to have a clearer understanding on the responsibilities and roles of the MACC.
I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Information Technology Division (BPRTM) for winning two awards on Outstanding ICT Implementation for Agency in Excellence In Analytic Business Operation Award and Excellence in Analytic Employee Innovation Award last year.
MACC’s portal was also awarded with five star rating for the year 2015 by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu).
With this success, I hope MACC will continue to excel in future.
Last but not least, I urge all Malaysians to continue their fight against corruption together with MACC regardless of rank, race and religion, and hope people will make use of the portal to obtain information and updates on MACC.
wabillahitaufik wal hidayah.
