IDENTIFYING HIGH RISK AREAS FOR CORRUPTION IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
28 August 2015
Anti-Corruption & Ethics (ACE) Centre held a meeting with panels and officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Inspection and Consultancy Division and two engineers at the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission Academy (MACA) to discuss the findings by ACE Centre that pertain to high risk areas when dealing with corrupt practices in construction industry.
These findings were a compilation of research and closed door events as well as discussion and advice from the Construction Industry, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Datuk Paul Low’s Office. After much discussion, it was agreed that more efforts are required to elaborate on the findings presented. Various factors must be taken into consideration for further validation.
The meeting was chaired by Puan Junipah Bt. Wandi, CEO for ACE and attended by Yahya bin Hj Ahmad, an engineer attached with MACC Special Operation Division and Sr Hj Hisham Badrul bin Haji Hashim, an ex JKR Engineer who now owns a consulting business. Officers from Construction Sector, MACC Inspection and Consultancy Division were also present.
