BINTULU, 29 Jun – The State Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNION) Sarawak, in collaboration with Bintulu District Office, SMK Kemena and MACC, organised an Integrity Programme: Leaders and Community Series 3/2018 at SMK Kemena here today.
The aim of the programme was to instill the spirit of responsibility in managing corruption issues, cultivate integrity, strengthen moral values and unity within the community as well as express the Government's dedication and commitment in producing a developed society with integrity.
YB Datuk Haji Talib Zulpilip, Minister at the Chief Minister's Office (Integrity and Ombudsman), officiated the programme, which was also attended by the Director of Integrity and Ombudsman at the Chief Minister's Office, Mr. Adana Jed; Deputy Speaker for Sarawak state assembly, YB Datuk Gerawat Gala; Director of MACC Sarawak, P/TPj Razim Bin Mohd Noor; Bintulu Division Resident, Mr. Jack Aman Luat; Deputy Director of MACC Bintulu branch, PsK Marcel Bulan Ak Ngabong as well as the Bintulu District Officer, Mr. Mataip Bin Sayu.
The agenda of the programme included an integrity talk to about 400 people from among community and tribe chiefs and leaders as well as representatives from federal and state departments.
Also held was a forum entitled "Masyarakat Berintegriti, Tunjang Kemajuan Negara", featuring YB Datuk Haji Talib Zulpilip, YB Datuk Gerawat Gala and P/TPj Razim as panelists and Mr. Adana as moderator.
Meanwhile, 30 teachers and 100 students of SMK Kemana were also given exposure to integrity and corruption prevention through two separate talk sessions.
