Putrajaya, December 10, 2012 – Celebrated religious preacher, Ustaz Don Daniyal bin Don Bijayid, enthralled officers and staff of various governments departments at a recording session of the ‘60 Minutes with Ustaz Don’ talk show held at the headquarters of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Ustaz Don began the talk show titled “Under Table Wealth” which focused on the issue of corruption. In describing the meaning of corruption and ‘risywah’, he explained that the word corruption historically derives from the Arabic word ‘al-risywah’. He further elaborated on the importance of living through legitimate means.
The audience were glued to some of the examples shared by Ustaz Don on the effects of taking other people's rights as well as an explanation on the meaning of verse 188 of the Surah Al-Baqarah. According to him, all Muslims must work together in combating corruption as the act of corruption, those giving and receiving bribes as well as those who allow it to happen, is strongly condemned by Allah and as stated in the Hadith narrated by Ahmad.
Dato’ Sri Haji Abu Kassim Bin Mohamed, Chief Commissioner of the MACC as well as several Division Directors joined the recording session which was a collaboration between the MACC and TV Al Hijrah and participated by an audience of about 500 officers and staff from the MACC as well as the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM).
