Kelana Jaya, December 27, 2012 – The Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission was invited by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) to give talks on Anti-corruption and Integrity Management to the management, officials and team players of Selangor football team, best known as “The Red Giant”. Also present were Dato’ Hj Ja’far bin Mahad, Director of Selangor MACC , Dato’ Abu Bakar from FAM Integrity Department and Haji Irfan Baktiar, Head Coach, FAS.
Dato Hamidin Hj Mohd Amin, Secretary General of FAS said in his speech that the officials and players should look at the dangers of corruption. "If corruption is not curbed, it will bring detrimental consequences and failures to the sport,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dato 'Hj Ja'afar bin Mahad in his reply speech said, "The presence of the MACC is not intended to punish but to prevent corruption and to build togetherness in combating corruption in order to improve the quality of the football players in the state". The Integrity Management briefing was presented by Assistant Commissioner Ruslan bin Tuan Mat, Head of Community Education Branch of MACC Selangor which also includes questions and queries from the players and the management of the FAS.
The two agencies hope such cooperation to continue in the future to remind everyone, including the management teams, officials and players that no one will be spared upon committing corruption offences. The MACC also take the opportunity to wish Good Luck to the team for the 2013 season.
