Angkasapuri, January 17, 2012 – The upcoming launch of the Corruption Prevention Secretariat of Institutes of Teacher Education or commonly to be known as SPR-IPG, received a big boost by being featured in AiFM’s (RTM’s Chinese language channel) radio talk show.

The two hour session dwelled on information related to the formation and puropse of the SPR-IPG nationwide by MACC’s Superintendent Lim Gim Shin from its Community Education Division.

“The main purpose of the establishment of the SPR IPG is to spread the awareness on anti-corruption principles as well as information on the MACC to the trainee teachers. The SPR IPG will be utilised as a platform to disseminate information pertaining to the ills and causes of corruption, abuse of power and malpractice to students at these IPGs,” he said.

“The key purpose is to establish teachers as key communicators in sharing the knowledge on the principles of anti-corruption and integrity with the student population at schools nationwide.” added Lim.

Listeners were also informed on the launch of the SPR IPG to be officiated by Dato’ Dr. Haji Mohd Puad Zarkashi, Deputy Education Minister on January 22 at the Institute of Integrity Malaysia (IIM).

In addition, a call-in by Lim Wee Kiat, Executive Council of the Corruption Prevention Secretariat of Institutes of Higher Education at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan provided explanation on the role of the SPR IPT in spreading anti-corruption messages, especially to the students and residents around the university campus. The interview was also featured in the local Chinese media, Oriental Daily, on January 19, 2013.
