Kuching, April 28 - Sarawak Timber Association (STA) held a roadshow in cooperation with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Sarawak as one of the STA initiatives in promoting anti-corruption agenda and business integrity principle in the country.
In addition, the Roadshow was intended to give a picture to the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) signatories in implementing the 10 initiatives set after the signing of CIP.
This is to ensure that licensees and contractors who have signed the CIP to perform five (5) anti-corruption principles as stipulated in the corporate integrity pledge signed on 17 November 2014.
This roadshow began on 21st April 2015 at the ParkCity Everly Hotel, Miri and it was estimated that 44 participants attended the roadshow.
The second location for this roadshow was in New World Hotel, Bintulu, which was on 22nd April 2015 (Wednesday) with a total attendance of 55 participants. Meanwhile, the third location was in the Hotel, Sibu, which was on 23rd April 2015 and attended by 99 participants.
Kuching was the last location for this roadshow which was held on 28th April, attended by 65 participants. Among the contents of this Roadshow were a talk entitled "Introduction to Corruption and Offences under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009" and a briefing entitled "The Monitoring of the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP)".
The first talk was delivered by AC Jutim anak Nyagam from Sarawak MACC for all zones namely Miri, Bintulu, Sibu and Kuching. Talks regarding CIP was delivered by Chief SAC P. Ganason a/l S. Periatham from Inspection and Consultancy Division, Headquarters involving Miri and Sibu zones while the one in Bintulu zone was served by the AC Zakiah bt Hassan and Kuching zone was served by SSupt.
