Gebeng, June 8 - Community Education Division in collaboration with Integrity Unit of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) had organized Corruption Prevention Strategic Plan (PSPR) Preparation Workshop from 7 to 10 June 2015 at the Maritime Academy Sultan Ahmad Shah, Gebeng, Pahang.
PSPR is an integrated and continuous anti-corruption effort, based on the principle of "prevention is better than cure", has been utilized as a systematic and effective internal organizational measure.
The main objective of this workshop was to develop a Corruption Prevention Strategic Plan (PSPR) for the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in order to curb corruption among the MMEA members.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Mr Samsuni Bin Mohd Nor, Deputy Director (Management) of MMEA. The event was joined by 51 participants comprising MMEA and MACC officers, including Head of PenMas Unit from states.
Various programmes were conducted during the four days and three nights workshop, among them were Introduction to the MACC Act 2009, Introduction to the Corruption Prevention Strategic Plan (PSPR), as well as PSPR discussion and preparation.
Also held was a visit to Kuantan Port in Tanjung Gelang on the third day of the workshop. The participants were brought on an excursion to see few ships; one of them was 32-years old KM Langkawi.
